Efficacy of breeding methods as hybridization and chemical mutagenesis for the creation of competitive varieties is proved.Seven millet varieties bred in Plant Production Institute nd. a. V. Ya. Yuriev has entered the State Variety List, four varieties (Konstantynivske, Vitrylo, Yuvileyne, Kozatske) has entered it in 2006 - 2010 years. Two varieties - Korolivske and Svitankove have been sent to the State Variety Test in 2010
