Retraction Policy for Published Articles

Retraction of an article is a measure of last resort and is applied to preserve the purity and integrity of the scientific space and eliminate errors, rather than to punish authors.

·       Grounds for Retraction: Violation of fundamental restrictions established in the policies of the research collection, copyright infringement, non-compliance with professional ethical norms, and scientific misconduct (large-scale plagiarism or self-plagiarism; duplicate publication in other outlets; fabrication, fraudulent manipulation, or falsification of experimental data; false attribution of authorship); as well as critical unintentional errors discovered by the authors during their research (use of faulty equipment, systemic error in calculations) that completely invalidate the scientific value of the conclusions.

·       Formatting a Retraction: A retraction can be initiated by the authors, reviewers, readers, or the editorial staff itself. For each retracted article, the corresponding notice must clearly state the reason for the retraction and the individual or party who initiated the procedure. Upon a decision to retract:

o   The original text of the publication remains in the electronic archive on the website unchanged, but a clear and indelible watermark “ВІДКЛИКАНО / RETRACTED” is applied to each page of its PDF version, and a corresponding note is entered into the metadata.

o   An official retraction notice with a link to the original article is published in the current or next issue of the research collection, clearly indicating that it has been retracted.
