Data Protection Policy
The Editorial Board of the research collection “Plant Breeding and Seed Production” strictly adheres to the standards of publication ethics and the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine. While the research collection's primary focus is on plant science, we establish the following mandatory rules for all authors:
Ethics of Research Involving Humans and Animals: Any scientific work involving human participants (e.g., sensory evaluations of new varieties) or animals (e.g., studies of forage quality) must be conducted in accordance with relevant national legislation and international declarations. Such studies must obtain mandatory approval from the Bioethics Committee of the institution where the research was conducted.
The research collection “Plant Breeding and Seed Production” collects, processes, and protects personal and confidential data in strict accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Protection of Personal Data”.
· For Research Participants: Authors are required to ensure the confidentiality of information and the protection of personal data of third parties (respondents, farm owners, etc.) in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Protection of Personal Data”. Any confidential information may be published only with official written consent.
· For Authors and Reviewers (Electronic Document Management): The scientific research collection “Plant Breeding and Seed Production” (Selektsiia i nasinnytstvo) ensures full protection of personal data received from authors and reviewers during registration and submission of materials via the website.
· Retention of Documents: All uploaded license agreements, author statements, as well as completed reviewer forms (templates) are strictly confidential documents. They are stored in a secure electronic management system of the website and within the internal local electronic archive of the editorial office for at least 5 years.
· Access Restrictions: Access to this data is granted exclusively to the Executive Secretary and the Deputy Editor-in-Chief to facilitate the editorial process. Personal data (email addresses, phone numbers, signatures) is under no circumstances transferred to third parties or used for commercial purposes, except in cases of an official verification request from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine or international indexing databases.
Biosafety and Plant Research Ethics: Research involving genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or specific biological materials must be supported by permits from the relevant state authorities and comply with biosafety standards.
Declaration of Compliance: By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the research was conducted in compliance with these ethical standards and that all necessary approvals were obtained.
